Omg!!! I'm so happy! Thanks guys!!! And I'm so so glad one of the songs I heard live that I loved made the album. It's called Tupelo Honey. I also like Star.... gosh! So many good ones. I don't want to listen to them all until I have the album though....

A bit disappointed too that 'God' isn't on there... maybe a hidden track? I can't wait for November 7th!

I just received this from EMI Canada.
With the release of their new CD Lake of Fire, Shaye return to the Canadian recording scene with the signature harmonies and hook laden songs that made their debut The Bridge such a favourite with audiences. Their new album has already yielded a hit first single with title track “Lake of Fire,” which is currently a Top 15 hit single at AC Radio and Top 50 at Hot AC Radio. Originally scheduled to be out this month, Lake Of Fire's physical release date has been moved to February 6, 2007 to coincide with an exciting and unique national opportunity that will be announced later this year. For fans that can’t wait until the new year - Lake of Fire is available digitally right now from iTunes. Click here to get it now!
Since the release of the first album, Shaye's Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean have been very busy touring, working on the new album, as well as several other individual projects - including making a few more babies! Their last album brought them a huge smash single “Happy Baby” which garnered them a SOCAN award, a prestigious Juno nomination and a Canadian Radio Music Award.
Shaye parlayed their gorgeous vocal blend and outgoing personalities into one of this country’s best stage shows, where outstanding, emotional songs are interspersed with ad-libbed quips and witty commentary. Now, with the upcoming sophomore album, Lake of Fire, the three have blossomed even further, co-writing the majority of the songs and displaying stunning harmonies and leads, with Grammy Award winning producer Jay Joyce (who also worked on the last album) at the helm as producer.
Lake of Fire runs the gamut of emotions including girl-power assertiveness on their kiss-your-mother reworking of the Waterboys’ “We Will Not Be Lovers” and a rockin’ fervency on “You’re Not Alone.” There’s an enticing invitation on the sultry “Stay” and an homage to their East Coast heritage on Patty Griffin’s “We Are Water.” They also wrote a touching a cappella number about love, loyalty and faith called “Ocean of Sorrows” and the equally touching “Star,” a special tribute to Tara’s late sister, Shaye, who now shines brightly as the inspiration and namesake for the group.
Stay tuned for exciting Shaye news coming very soon...
I wonder what unique and exciting national opportunities will be revealed come the release of the physical cd.
A new cd cover would be nice. The cover is nice but Tara's just barely in the photo. Who knows maybe a cd/dvd release with the release in Feb.

Did a record company just use the word girl-power? I thought that phrase died with the Spice Girls!!
Unique and exciting national opportunity? Could that be their documentary (an "opportunity" to go behind the scenes with Shaye)? Or perhaps we'll all get to be on the album in some capacity? lol. Or an album-cover design contest?

I have a strong feeling now that maybe they are planning a cd/dvd release. Like a package deal. Lake Of Fire and a bonus behind the scenes documentary. Maybe that's why they delayed the cd release? So they could repackage it. Who knows?? But the national oppertunity bit sounds like it's something else. Maybe a national tour or something?

Maybe, but isn't a tour usually *expected* rather than a bonus? I think they just did it so that fans like us would pay for the album twice, once for the download version and once for the CD! lol

I think they just did it so that fans like us would pay for the album twice, once for the download version and once for the CD! lol That's true! Usually with every cd release there is a tour. They want to keep us on our toes! lol. I usually don't download music through puretracks and stuff like that. I think i'll wait for the cd, but who knows? I might give in and buy it that way.

The cover is nice... but I saw the cover on the Second Cup CD with the water and stuff and assumed that would be the one for the actual album.. I wonder why it changed? A national tour would be very exciting... but as was mentioned before, its also kind of expected.
