I am so pleased to have gotten my Shaye CD Lake Of Fire in the post today from Amazon.ca. I was suprised to see it had a cardboard slipcase with separate sections for the CD and booklet. I guess it is more environmentally friendly that way. Lovely to finally see a picture of Shaye, Tara's sister in the album!
Hope everybody else is enjoying their CD too (or download if they chose that instead back in November)! I am having a happy Shaye day today!

Hey, how did you get it so early? I thought it's available in February?

According to Amazon, the cd was "released" Nov. 14, 2006 and is in stock.
Again, this is only going to cause more confusion for the fans and the sales of the cd.
I don't know, after several spins of this cd, it hasn't grabbed me the way "The Bridge" did on its release.
"Lake of Fire" should have been a hit, very reminiscent of "Happy Baby" but with no video and no real push from the radio and record company, how could it not but fail?
Don't get me wrong, I love Dav and would walk across a fire pit to see her if she was singing nursery rhymes, but I think this cd is rather safe and somewhat bland, and I hope I'm wrong, will probably fall to way side in today's music market.
Granted, the cd was made not for record sales or fame, but as a product of love for the music, and it's a shame that overproduced and under talented "singers", insert name here, can garner more attention and notoriety for going panty-less, getting plastered, making a porn video than making music that's worth listening to.

I totally agree. This release has been nuts. The date being changed and then it being available before it's even released in Canada. I'm not talking about the digital release... although I think that will make cd sales even less unfortunatly. From what i've heard so far, it's ok... but again I agree, not as good as The Bridge was. I think so far there are only about 2 songs I like on the cd. As for the under talents, so true. The world seems to admire trash and not class.

I have just ordered the CD too. Hope shipment to the UK is speedy. Although I did download it from iTunes. It's nice to have a hard-copy. I only did becaue of the 3 month wait for it!
I really like the album though -- We Will Not Be Lovers and We Are Water are sooo goood.
ShopEmi have it listed "In Stock" but you can't order or pre-order it at all.
Is there any news of the documentory release? Will it be on DVD?

Only I wish it weren't true for the artists out there who just want to sing to an audience, not expose themselves, and are degraded because of it. I hope for Shaye's sake that this CD will go over well....somehow...

She also sang with The Elusive Project X with Flavio Monopoli. More info at www.myspace.com/flaviomonopoli and monopolimusic.com/. You'll have to dig a little because the band have dispanded since Shaye died. Although her CD is still available on the website.

I never knew that was why they called themselves Shaye until last year too. I didn't know she was also a singer.

Just got my CD today -- two days from Canada to the UK I like the boklet and artwork. It's also nice to know which tracks are covers and originals at last. I do hope there is a marketing push for the album and it does well... the thing with using itunes is it's so easy to get your album on there quickly... Anyway great CD -- I think I like it better than The Bridge.

I still haven't gotten mine... I ordered another CD along with it to save on shipping, and I have the feeling it might take a little longer because of it I have been hearing the new single on the radio occasionally. CHUM has already played it twice today. Which is more attention than they gave Lake of Fire

So the CD arrived today, and it's GREAT!! I had already heard the songs (I downloaded it from PureTracks), but nothing beats a hard copy. And the physical case is just gorgeous, I especially enjoy the panoramic ocean view on the inside. And I REALLY love that they zero-footprinted the CD, meaning that all the natural resources used to produce it and ship it were returned to the environment / reduced through tree planting and carbon offsetting. Some other misc stuff from the liner notes: -The album was recorded with the entire touring band -Bill Bell produced/engineered/mixed Ocean of Sorrows, and did most of the pre-production work for the whole album -Ron Sexsmith played guitar on Someway, Somehow -Gordie co-wrote Star with Kim/Dav/Tara
