Hey,
I want to start to work on my Dav collection. I have nothing but the Shaye cd so far. So my question is... what has she released? Cds, dvds, music videos, books? Anything...

She's released 3 solo cds and I have: 1. Shadows Wake Me 1996 2. Hyperdramatic 2000 (definitely one of my favourite albums, plus I have the cd singles that were industry released only. 3. Dav-net 2003
Last year she released her book "Miscellaneous Female: The Journals of Damhnait Doyle", which is available at your local book store.
She's also done backing vocals for many artists. She has an upcoming solo cd of cover songs that is to be released next year, that's being produced by Danny Michel.

^ ooh, how did you get the singles? I have Hyperdramatic on cassette tape, I really should invest in the CD one day! ANd where'd you hear about the solo CD? I know his MySpace mentioned he was working on something with her, and there's that one cover that is up there, but I didn't know there was a whole album?! yay!

I came across the singles for both "Tattooed" and "Never Too Late" by accident in a used cd store, I think it may have been Cd Cat when they were around.
Funny thing is, Dav didn't even know they existed when I had her autograph them back in 2003 at her Chapter's performances.
The remix of "Never Too Late" doesn't work and the cover photo of the cd is unflattering.
I spoke briefly with Dav on Tues. at the First Canadian Place show, where she spoke of her upcoming cd.
It's a shame her own website is no longer updated, other than the dates of her upcoming shows.

I was wondering what type of things she wrote about. Who has she done backing vocals for? Sorry for all the questions. haha ;D

Since the Shaye one wasn't updated that much.

The book is ok, it's written Jann Arden style... basically a collection of journal entries.
And I'm pretty sure that at least the tour section is updated by the same person, because they usually have the same listings.... and most of Dav's tour dates aren't even hers (they're Kim's!).

Yeah, that's confusing. Imagine going to one of John McDermott's shows and expecting to see Dav. I say let some of her fans take control of updating the sites, I think we do a better job of getting the word out.

I SO agree! ;D All of us are much more on top of things than the webmaster who gets paid for it. Who has she done backing vocals for? Sorry for all the questions. haha ;D No problem! Dav has done backups for a lot of artists. As for the ones that have been recorded, this is all I know of: -Pavlo's "Irresistable" CD; lead vocals on If Only This Song Could Be Heard -With Dayna Manning "Women & Songs: Christmas" CD - Silent Night -With Tom Cochrane "Light of Day: Tribute to Bruce Springsteen" CD - Secret Garden -Bruce Cockburn "Life Short Call Now" CD - bg's on Mystery, Life Short Call Now, and Different When It Comes To You (love her vocals on this track I'm sure there must be more of her with Tom Cochrane, but I haven't been able to find any. I suppose you could look at the Live8 Toronto DVD as well - she sang bg with Tom on "Life is a Highway", and was also in the big group at the end singing with Neil Young on "Rockin' In the Free World" and "Oh Canada". This is also apparently a demo track for her upcoming cd. "Hold On Me" I found lying around on the web. Kind of a creepy picture along with it! (scroll to the very bottom and the mp3 is there): www.thermidormusic.com/bass_player.php?pageNum_Recordset1=1&totalRows_Recordset1=24If anyone has anything else, feel free to add!!

^ She also co-back-uped with Sarah Slean on Robin Black and the Intergalactic Rock Stars' "Suburban Sci-Fi"
Wow, that was a mouthful.

Wow!!! Neil Young?? I never knew she worked with him for that. I will have to check out the Live 8 dvd too. I also like Sarah Slean. What other Canadian artists would you guys like to see Dav work with?
I also totally agree that fans should keep the tour part of the site updated. I usually check here first before anywhere else. Most up to date.
