She's also posted 3 of her new tracks from the cd, what a different sound!
I hope she does some local shows here in T.O to promote the cd.

MapleMusic has updated their site with more info on the album, the option to pre-order it, and an updated biography: www.maplemusic.com/artists/doy/default.aspStrangely, the biography doesn't ever capitalize her name -- has she gone k. d. lang on us?

So her site says that the album is available on iTunes TODAY... but I can't find it.
Has anyone else had any luck???

Yeah... I searched for it today as well - even tried the USA site just incase, and nothing! I'm going to buy the hard copy anyways, but it would be nice for her to get some exposure on iTunes.

So... I went to HMV in the Eaton Centre, Best Buy in the Eaton Centre, HMV Superstore on Yonge St., AND Sunrise on Yonge @ Gould. Not one of them had the CD. The HMV Superstore had ONE copy on order, and it hadn't arrived. Sunrise had no record whatsoever of the CD ever having existed.
The album is also still NOT on iTunes.
I followed the link to MapleMusic.com from dav-net.com, so I'm hoping that my order on there will actually be filled!!! Anyone seen or heard anything?!?!

Dav has posted on her myspace that the cd will be available on iTunes at the beginning of March. I'm assuming there was some sort of mix up, as she doesn't really explain... I tried Best Buy, HMV, and Future Shop for the real thing, and it doesn't even show up on the catalogue! I hope this doesn't turn out to be like the Lake of Fire release all over again.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be like the Lake of Fire release all over again. Me too!!! I really hate it when stuff like this happens in such a last-minute manner. Like, if something's been delayed, you'd think they'd know sooner than the release date!

Okay, got a bit more of the story from Damhnait at today's show (where the CDs were available) -- the CD is released, but outside of the Maritimes, there has been no hard-copy distribution in physical retailers. The CD is available online if anyone wants a hard copy (a friend works for Maple Music and they've apparently been shipping them all week), and will hopefully be on iTunes whenever they get themselves together.

Hmmm... well that's a bit unfair for those of us not in the Maritimes. Is this a problem with distribution or was that the intention all along? Maybe I'll consider Maple Music if that's the case. Thanks for clarifying SweetOne! (and the concert review too)

Apparently it was the intention - Damhnait said she didn't see the value of doing mass distribution outside of the Maritimes where she sells a lot more, because most people don't buy CDs anymore and just download from iTunes, etc. The entire process has been vigilantly independant so they can't get the same sorts of deals as record labels can on selling their products either. I can't say I blame her, though it might've been easier to announce that on her site so people weren't looking for it. MapleMusic is pretty good (and quick) so it's probably your best route.

^ totally. I just got the CD in the mail today, and it's great!!! I really like I Want You To Want Me (music box style!), and Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight), but the whole thing is great!!!
