That has to be for the Winter Festival Toronto has every year. I saw Sarah Slean a few years back...and it was c-c-cooooold!
She had a hard time playing the keyboards because her hands were frozen, despite having a heater on stage.

^ I was there too! That was the first time she played "Day One"... complete with trumpet solo! (I miss the trumpet solo )... anyways, WinterCity runs Jan 26 to Feb 8 this year, so that's likely it. Can't wait

Last year I was at the Wintercity festival for a singer by the name of Christine Evans. It was crazy cold. There was hail, snow, rain and a strong wind all at the same time. I'm thinking it's for that too. For those who might not know... the Wintercity festival is free. Most things at Nathan Phillips are I think.

I'm gonna cross-post these for a while... if the official board becomes popular enough I may consider shutting this one down... but we'll play that by ear.
Anyways, the show was great today!!! It was freaking cold (by the end of the show the temperature had dropped and there were only about 20 onlookers remaining!), but it was great. Kim had a sore throat but did a good job of hiding it -- even taking time out to demonstrate that she's the voice of ScotiaBank's new "You're richer than you think" ads ("and you're poorer than you know," she joked). They performed mostly songs from the new album with a spattering of songs from The Bridge. The first couple of songs seemed a little rough (which could have been the cold, or the new band, or the long time since they'd performed together), but they really gelled once they started in on Lake of Fire and it came together after that. All the new songs sound really amazing live, and the "live versions" have a number of additional intricacies which just sounded awesome. The new-ish band (Stuart and Pico are still there, and they added a guy named Derek on guitar and Lyle Molzan (who plays with Jann Arden) on drums) sounds amazing together, and it's a really crisp, clean, new sound. I was hoping to stick around afterwards to chat but it was WAYyyyy too cold. Anyways, great show!
