From Hugh's Room website:
Tues Nov 22 - Bluebird North $10 (SAC Tim Vesely [of the Rheostatics] (host)
members), $12 Damhnait Doyle, Danny Michel, James Linderman Patrick Dune, Chris St. Pierre, Melanie Doane
This event will bring together on the same stage Canadian artists - some well known and others yet to be "discovered" - to share their secrets, their joys, and their journeys in songwriting, in an evening which will be both inspiring and entertaining. Audiences will catch a glimpse of the unique talents and abilities of songwriters representing a wide variety of popular music. While a majority of the participants are performing songwriters, the focus of the show is on the writer and the song. Only original material is presented and participants are encouraged to talk about their writing, inspiration, successes, etc. As you can see from the lineup of participating artists, the night is going to be outstanding. I don't have much time to type right now as I just got in and am headed to bed, but the show tonight was awesome! As is the custom with Bluebird North, each performer did one song before the next did, and each of them got three songs. Damhnait did Another California Song, a new song she wrote at last week's Humber Songwriting workshop thing called After All (which is AMAZING!), and Afterglow. She and Danny were sparring back and forth the entire night and kept the audience in stiches!

I wasn't aware that she was performing at Hugh's room. Etalk last night showed her, Kim and Tara at the Socan awards, with a quick interview with Dav. And as always, funny as hell.

Here's the link to the Etalk segment for anyone who didn't catch it. Kinda short, but funny all the same. www.ctv.ca/entertainment(Just go to 'SOCAN celebrates songwriters' under "watch video") Apparently, "Happy Baby" was honoured for one of the Canadian pop songs that recieved the most domestic radio play in 2004. Yay!
