at the Humber Songwriting Workshop
A week-long learning adventure for those who love to write songs
June 24 – June 30 2006
Those of you who attended the Humber Songwriting Workshop last summer know that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Develop your songwriting skills and learn valuable information about songwriting and the music business. The unique environment offers access to songwriters at all levels of experience and fosters collaboration as well as many networking possibilities. There is still some space left in this summer’s workshop, so register soon to secure your place.
Some highlights:
--One-on-one sessions with veteran industry song doctors and pros
--Seminars focus on songwriting aspects of the music business
--Classroom sessions feature small groups with plenty of individual attention
--Intimate ‘how I wrote…’ performances by hitmakers and veterans
--‘War stories’ about music, recording, publishing, and co-writing experiences
--Performance opportunities
--Songwriting critiques and demo evaluations
--Studio demo prizes up for grabs, including Yamaha guitars and Long & McQuade gift certificates
--Lunch provided every day

The fee for the week is $750 and includes all workshops, seminars, and lunch every day. Students from last year’s course have said that the quality of instruction, the incredible environment and the advice and knowledge they took from it made their week well worth the fee. The workshop is held on Humber’s Lakeshore campus in Toronto; for those of you from out of town, there is a residency option at Humber’s residence; breakfast is included in the residence fee of $305.76 for seven nights (June 23 – June 29).
